What was the cause of Eka Movement?

The high land rent was the main reasons for the movement. The Eka meetings involved a religious ritual where peasants vowed to pay only recorded rent, refuse forced labor, and remain united. Small Zamindars also joined the movement. The leadership of the movement shifted to Madari Pasi, who did not support non-violence, leading to the loss of support from Congress and nationalists. Repression by colonial authorities brought an end to the movement by March 1922.

The movement came to end by March 1922 under severe repression by authorities.
